Cabinet of Sexology and Psychotherapy SPI

The SPI Sexology and Psychotherapy Clinic offers a comprehensive and integrative approach to psychological and sexual disorders, building bridges between these different spheres to provide complete and personalized care.

Our approach is based on three main pillars

1. PSYCHOLOGICAL APPROACH

We support patients experiencing anxiety, depression, and trauma-related disorders. We also work on emotional regulation, stress management, and improving self-esteem, helping each individual regain psychological balance.

2. SEXOLOGICAL APPROACH

We provide specialized support in sexology, with particular expertise in addressing sexual pain (dyspareunia, vaginismus), desire disorders, premature or delayed ejaculation, and erectile dysfunction. We consider sexuality a central component of well-being and approach it from a holistic perspective, integrating psychological, biological, and relational dimensions.

3. TRAUMA-CENTERED APPROACH

The psychological and physical effects of trauma can significantly impact emotional and sexual balance. We support individuals who have experienced violence, abuse, or significant life events by helping them reconnect with their bodies and emotions. We integrate specific tools such as exposure therapy, mindfulness, and EMDR to support the resilience process.

The interconnection between these three areas is at the core of our approach. For example, a patient consulting for anxiety may explore its impact on their sexuality; similarly, sexological support takes into account any underlying anxiety or depressive dimensions. Each therapeutic journey is approached as a whole, considering the complexity of the individual.

An integrative approach in the service of patients

Beyond these three pillars, our work is grounded in the integration of major psychotherapeutic approaches, allowing us to tailor interventions to each patient’s specific needs:

  • COGNITIVE-BEHAVIORAL THERAPIES (CBT)

This approach focuses on developing new strategies to modify dysfunctional thoughts and maladaptive behaviors. We use techniques such as cognitive restructuring, gradual exposure to anxiety-inducing stimuli, relaxation techniques, and emotional regulation. For example, in cases of sexual dysfunction linked to performance anxiety, we may work on reducing negative thoughts and introduce progressive exercises to reconnect with the body and pleasure.

  • SYSTEMIC APPROACH

We consider the individual within their environment, taking into account interactions with others. This approach is particularly relevant for couple and family issues, where we analyze relational dynamics and communication patterns. We also adopt a multidisciplinary approach by collaborating with other healthcare professionals (general practitioners, gynecologists, urologists, etc.) to ensure comprehensive and consistent care.

  • HUMANISTIC APPROACH

We emphasize each individual’s capacity to grow and access their own internal resources. Active listening, valuing personal experience, and a supportive attitude are central to this approach. We encourage patients to explore their potential and strengthen their autonomy for lasting well-being.

This integrative approach allows us to support each person in their uniqueness, taking into account the different dimensions of their history and functioning. Our goal is to provide a safe and supportive therapeutic space that fosters self-exploration, understanding, and sustainable well-being.
